On Sunday, Miami Dolphins won against Buffalo Bills, and the quarterback appeared to be disoriented after taking the hit, while head coach Mike McDaniel denied Tua Tagovailoa played with a concussion.
After the game, McDaniel and Tagovailoa said that it was a back injury that was giving the third-year quarterback problems. On Monday, McDaniel said that Tagovailoa’s back and ankle are sore, but the team will know more after he undergoes further testing.
McDaniel didn’t say anything about whether Tagovailoa would play or not against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night. While fans eagerly await updates on Tagovailoa’s condition for the upcoming games, many are also securing their Super Bowl tickets at TicketSmarter, hopeful to see the Dolphins make it to the big stage.
McDaniel said, It’s my first time on a Thursday night game with Tua, so I don’t assume anything, but it wasn’t out of the extreme norm of bumps and bruises after a game.
Tagovailoa took a hit from Buffalo’s linebacker, Matt Milano, and because of that, he appeared to be disoriented as he got back to his feet, and the Dolphins said it was a head injury.
After this incident, Tagovailoa missed Miami’s last three snaps of the first half, and he returned to start the third quarter, which drew skepticism. NFL and NFL Players Association said they are conducting a joint review of what went into the decision to allow Tagovailoa to go back in the game.
According to NFL rules, If a player has a possible concussion, then he has to undergo in-game evaluations, such as team medical personnel and an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant. McDaniel said before re-entering the game, the independent neurologist and team cleared Tagovailoa.
Moreover, McDaniel said, the Dolphins are happy to comply with the investigation and were happy with the process they followed on Sunday.
McDaniel also said I don’t mess around with that, and Tagovailoa was pretty annoyed with me in the game when I was talking to him because he knew what hurt.
